Marianna Lovato is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) of the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG-VUB). She holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations from University College Dublin and an MPhil in European Politics from the University of Oxford.

Her research interests revolve around the role of informality in international organizations, EU foreign policy negotiations, and the Europeanization of foreign policy. At CSDS, she is working on the ERC project SINATRA (Sino-American competition and European Strategic autonomy), focusing specifically on US strategies of influence towards EU foreign policy. Marianna’s work has appeared in the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Public Policy, and The Hague Journal of Diplomacy.
