Anastasia Fantini is an intern at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy (CSDS). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International and European Affairs from Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris and is pursuing a Master’s in Political Science, specialising in European and International Governance, at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

Prior to her current role, Anastasia completed an internship with the CSDS Japan Chair, Dr. Eva Pejsova, as part of the Brussels Programme on European Foreign Policy. During this time, she supported research efforts and contributed to a range of operational activities within the centre. Additionally, she gained experience working with La Ligue Humanitaire, a Paris-based NGO conducting humanitarian missions in crisis zones worldwide.

Anastasia’s research interests include Indo-Pacific dynamics and major power rivalries, European defence and security policy, European foreign relations and regional cooperation initiatives.
