Matej Vanev

Matej Vanev is doing an internship as a Project Assistant at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy (CSDS). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Ljubljana and has furthered his Master’s studies in Political Science: European and International Governance at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Matej is currently doing an Advanced Master’s in European Integration at the VUB.

Before joining CSDS, Matej gained experience as an intern at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Brussels. There, he was involved in consular service provision, international diplomacy, communications, high-level government visits and information management. His research interests include European integration, Sino-European and transatlantic relations, foreign and defence policymaking, with a particular interest in understanding how the EU, United States and China are shaping global governance and security frameworks.
