Ivan Zaccagnini is a Ph.D. student enrolled in a joint program between the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) of the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG-VUB) in Brussels. He also works as teaching assistant for International Relations and Political Risk Analysis at the Department of Political Science at LUISS University. Since 2020, he worked as Research Assistant at the Center for International and Strategic Studies (CISS-LUISS). With the financial support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, he co-authored two studies on military drones and the hider-finder competition in air warfare. Ivan graduated from Roma Tre University in Rome with an M.A. in International Relations: Peace, War, and Security. His research interests focus on Emerging and Disruptive Technologies, Future of War and Great Power Competition. The provisional title of his thesis is “Industrial Policy in the Age of Complexity: Emerging Technologies and the International Competition in Commercial and Defence Markets.”
