Colombia in the Korean War: 70 Years of History

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War and within the framework of the research project “Exploring Trade Cooperation between South Korea and the Pacific Alliance”, the panel addressed contextual elements about the Korean War. It emphasised the participation of the Colombia Battalion; the implications of this in Colombian military policy; the perspectives of Colombian war veterans; and how this historical milestone is crucial to understanding the past and the future of the relationships between South Korea and, not only Colombia, but also other Latin American countries. The seminar was co-organised by KF-VUB Korea Chair and Universidad de los Andes. It was supported by the Korea Foundation.
