Global Structural Changes Regarding the Ukraine War and Implications for East Asian Security

The Japan Chair at the CSDS co-hosted a public lecture starring Admiral Tomohisha Takei as key speaker. This event was co-organised by the Embassy of Japan in Belgium. Based on Admiral Takei’s lengthy experience at the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF), he provided an insightful analysis on the implications of the war in Ukraine for the security architecture in East Asia.

This event took place on 1 December 2023, from 12.00 to 14.30, at the Japan Information and Cultural Center (JICC) on Rue Van Maerlant 1, 1040.

Short biography of the key speaker: ‘Admiral Takei serves as a special advisor to the CEO of the SAMPA K.K. in Yokohama. He retired from active duty in 2016 after having served as the 32nd Chief of Staff of the JMSDF. He joined JMSDF after graduating from the National Defence Academy and holds a master degree from the University of Tsukuba’.
