Republic of Korea – Europe Strategic Cooperation

Ongoing United States (US)-China competition, growing cooperation between China, North Korea and Russia and a shifting US policy towards allies call for a rethink and upgrading of relations among like-minded partners. In this context, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Europe share an interest in deepening their security, diplomatic and economic ties. This will strengthen their respective positions in a changing international environment. This track-1.5 expert workshop explored how the ROK and Europe – including the EU, NATO and European countries – can work together in practice to support each other, as well as to boost minilateral cooperation with fellow liberal democracies.
