Transatlantic Perspectives on US-China Geoeconomic Competition

This workshop will take place at a pivotal moment on both sides of the Atlantic, right after the US Presidential and congressional elections and following the European Parliament elections, as the formation of a new Commission. The event will promote the sharing of insights from PIIE and CSDS-based researchers with the aim to inform and guide trade policy in Washington and Brussels. The event will revolve around central themes to transatlantic economic relations, including the international roles of the US dollar and the euro, industrial policy, and trade policy. It will deliver concrete policy suggestions for the strategic orientations of US and EU for the coming years.

This event will explore US and EU alignment on China through a series of engaging sessions dedicated to alignment on trade and technology, trade rules, international currency and international payments.
