Franz Fischler

Franz Fischler is a former Member of the European Commission. He was Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries (1995–2004) and also served as Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Austria (1989–1994). He chaired the European Eco Social Forum, the European Forum Alpbach, and the Rise Foundation. Since 2015, he has been President of the Board of Trustees to the Austrian Institute of Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna.
