Gabriel Heyl

Pleinlaan 5, 1050, Brussel, Belgium

Gabriel Heyl is a doctoral student at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy. In his dissertation Gabriel examines the nuclear deterrence postures of the Federal Republic of Germany, France and the United Kingdom during the Cold War (1945-1991) and again from 2007 onward. Building on Professor Heuser’s Nuclear Mentalities? Strategies and Beliefs in Britain, France, and the FRG (1998), Gabriel is seeking to determine these states’ nuclear mentalities in the 21st century using an innovative approach: The Strategic Parallax. Gabriel earned a Master of International Affairs from The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University, as well as bachelor’s degrees in political science and sociology from the University of Montana. He also runs a boutique consulting business, providing bespoke in-depth research and (geo)political analysis.
