EU Outreach Facility for the Gulf Cooperation Council

The “EU Outreach Facility for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)” project saw the organisation of two Model EU simulations of the European Union Council focused on digital and technological cooperation between the EU and the GCC. The project was supported by the EU Delegation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman.

The activity included a 10-hour training and was conducted in cooperation with the Sharjah University (UAE) and the Sultan Qaboos University (Oman). The online training and both simulations were coordinated by Prof. Dr. Giulia Tercovich, Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS), Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB).

The first Model EU simulation hosted by Sharjah University (UAE) took place on 23 and 24 October 2024. Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) hosted the second simulation on 27 and 28 October 2024.
