On 31 March 2021, Linde Desmaele acted as a speaker at an event hosted by the German Marshall Fund of the United States entitled “Preserving the Value of Transatlantic Relations: A View From the Next Generation.” During the discussion, young scholars and practitioners shared their views on the continued value of the transatlantic relationship as well as the main policy challenges it currently faces. Drawing upon her PhD research at the Brussels School of Governance, Linde highlighted the importance of China in debates about the US-Europe relationship.
